- When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, “I am God Almighty. Live in My presence and be blameless.
- I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you greatly.”
- God replied to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”
- God also said to Moses, “Say this to the Israelites: Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.
- Then God spoke to Moses, telling him, “I am Yahweh.
- I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but I did not reveal My name Yahweh to them.
- I also established My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land they lived in as foreigners.
- Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD. They said: I will sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted; He has thrown the horse and its rider into the sea.
- The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.
- The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is His name.
- I am Yahweh, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another or My praise to idols.
